Initiation of "Anhui Model" Library Management Opens the Integration of Library and BookStore

On August 23, Lu’an City Library officially opened. Ye Luzhong, Mayor of Lu'an Municipal Government, Cao Jie, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the group, Wu Wensheng, General Manager of the group and Chairman of Wanxin Media, Han Jun, Standing Committee of Lu'an Municipal Committee, Director of Lu’an Publicity Department , Zeng Qingli, Vice-Director of the People's Congress of Lu'an City, Zhang Kewen,Party Committee Member and General Manager of Wanxin Media, well-known scholar Bao Pengshan of Lu'an nationality and Director of Anhui Provincial Library Lin Xudong attended the opening ceremony.   

During his speech ,Ye Luzhong warmly congratulated the official opening of the Lu'an City Library on behalf of the Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government.He pointed out that the library is an important part of the public cultural service system. The innovative operation and management mode of libraries in Lu’an City, which adopts the way of "separation of management and operation " and is managed by professional companies, has created a new mode of Library operation, which is an innovative move in the field of public cultural service management. Since its trial operation, it has attracted much attention and been widely praised by the general public. Reading in the city library has become one of the important lifestyles of Lu’an citizens.

 Cao Jie,on behalf of the Party Committee of the group,expressed his gratitude to the Lu'an Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government for their support for the reform, innovation and development of the group for many years. He said that in 1909, the Capital Library, as an example of modern libraries, opened the beginning of modern public libraries in China.110 years later, the opening of Lu'an City library unfolded a new chapter for the integration of libraries and bookstores to promote the national reading, a new era of library operation mode, and also showed new acts of the state-owned cultural enterprises in participating public cultural services .

   In his speech, Lin Xudong, on behalf of the Anhui Provincial Public Library Alliance and the Anhui Provincial Library, congratulated the opening of the Lu’an City Library. He said that the Lu'an City library has innovatively introduced the socialized management, which was called the "Anhui Model" of library management by experts and scholars at the annual meeting of Chinese libraries in 2018. He hopes that the Lu'an City library could actively explore and steadily promote the socialized operation and management of public libraries, and summarized the valuable experience of public libraries and introduced the bold measures and innovative stories of Anhui Library's reform.
